Hankus Netsky is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and ethnomusicologist, as well as the Department Advisor of New England Conservatory’s Contemporary Musical Arts Department and founder and director of the Klezmer Conservatory Band, an internationally renowned Yiddish music ensemble.

Eden MacAdams-Somer is Co-Chair of the Department of Contemporary Musical Arts at New England Conservatory and is one of today’s most exciting and versatile artists. Hailed by the New York Times as reflecting "astonishing virtuosity and raw expression," her music transcends genre through soaring violin, vocals, and percussive dance, weaving in and out of the many cultures that have formed her experience. She has been a featured soloist with symphony and chamber orchestras, jazz and swing bands, and Romanian, Jewish Music, and American folk ensembles.

Program: The duo will perform what inspires them and plan to announce each piece from the stage.

The series will conclude on Sunday, March 14, 2027, 3pm, when the Katarina String Quartet take the stage in the Helen Froehlich Auditorium. The Quartet has quickly distinguished itself as one of North America’s most compelling young ensembles. The tightly-knit and community focused ensemble currently serves as the Graduate Resident String Quartet at The Juilliard School, where they explore all chamber music, from contemporary and canonized works to folk tunes.

The KSQ was founded in 2022 at McGill University under the tutelage of André Roy. Since then, the KSQ has worked extensively with members of the Juilliard, Alban Berg, Danel, Dover, and Pacifica Quartets, and has participated in prestigious programs such as IMS Prussia Cove and McGill International String Quartet Academy (MISQA).

The KSQ takes its name from luthier Katarina Guarneri, wife of violin-maker Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesu. Scholars believe that she worked on her husband’s violins during the most productive years of his career. Inspired by Katarina, the KSQ celebrates the countless people and communities behind the canonized figureheads of classical music that contribute to the art we enjoy. Known for their personable concert presentations and community leadership, they regularly perform in community centers around New York City as recipients of Juilliard’s Gluck Fellowship.

About the de Blasiis Chamber Music Series

The mission of the de Blasiis Chamber Series is to discover, encourage, and present the finest possible musical talent in the northeastern New York region. We are a 501(c)3 non-profit devoted to producing outstanding artistic musical performances for audiences with great enthusiasm for history and the works.

The de Blasiis Chamber Music Series grew from the efforts of the two de Blasiis sisters, Giovannina, a pianist, and Virginia, a violinist. The women, along with various guest artists, regularly put on house concerts and eventually began performing in the courtyard at the Hyde Collection in Glens Falls, NY. When the museum’s contemporary wing was opened, the concerts were relocated to the Helen Froehlich Auditorium.

In 2023, Glens Falls Symphony advisor director Charles Peltz joined forces with the de Blasiis to serve as music director and creative support. Robert Rosoff, former Executive Director of the Glens Falls Symphony, is currently serving as Executive Director of the de Blasiis Chamber Music Series.

The Glens Falls Symphony is proud to partner with this amazing organization and envision a major expansion of live concerts, collaborative performances, and deeply engaging activities that enrich the lives of those living in the Glens Falls region and beyond. Concerts occur in the Helen Froehlich Auditorium at the Hyde Collection, 161 Warren Street, Glens Falls, NY.
