Glens Falls Symphony Announces the Appointment of a New Board President and Vice President for the 2025-26 Symphony Season.
Glens Falls, NY 08/01/2025 The Glens Falls Symphony announced today the appointment of a new Board President, Noel Granger, and Vice President, John E. Fitzgerald Jr. This brings the number of board members to twelve.
The Glens Falls Symphony proudly welcomes both members of our existing board of directors in their new appointments as part of our ambitious 5-year strategic plan, aimed at expanding education, enhancing fiscal sustainability, broadening audiences, and developing human capital. The symphony successfully rolled out a multiyear education plan in 2023, which will continue into the fall of 2025, with our Children’s Concert experience. The orchestra will bring “Peter and the Wolf” to our local area and rural students of the Adirondack Park. Peter and the Wolf tells a Russian folk tale that has introduced many young listeners to classical music and helped train them to recognize the distinct sounds produced by various instruments of the orchestra.
Written by Sergey Prokofiev, this interactive piece will be presented in the Queensbury High School Auditorium on Tuesday, November 18, and at North Warren Central Schools on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. This children’s theatre composition for orchestra is 40 minutes in length. The concert is grant-funded by Assemblywoman Carrie Woerner and the New York State Council on the Arts. This concert is a field trip experience for all schools in Warren & Washington Counties, and the Adirondack Park. All are welcome to attend.
The 2025-26 Glens Falls Symphony season is sponsored by: Arrow Bank

With an extensive background in program oversight, interagency collaboration, and budget administration, Noel brings a great deal of leadership skills to the Glens Falls Symphony board of directors in the coming year.
Noel and her husband, Peter Aust, reside in Lake George, NY.
“I have been continually inspired by the exceptional musicianship and artistic growth of the orchestra under Maestro Charles Peltz, now celebrating his 25th season. I am deeply moved by the orchestra’s expanding outreach efforts, led by Executive Director Jennifer Brink, the dedicated Board, and the incredible symphony staff — all working together to bring world-class music to our community. I believe that giving back is not just a choice, but a responsibility — especially in a place as special as the North Country. Our symphony is one of the most treasured cultural assets in the region, and I’m honored to serve as Board Chair for its 41st season. Guided by our Strategic Plan, we are focused on strengthening community partnerships, deepening ties with local schools, and building a sustainable future for this cherished organization.
This is your symphony. I invite you and your family to experience the magic, share in the joy, and help us keep the music playing for generations to come.” – Noel Granger
John E. Fitzgerald Jr. joined the symphony board in July 2024. John majored in History (B.A) at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, and is a lifelong resident of Warren County. John practiced law for 38 years in Glens Falls, first with his father, John E. Fitzgerald, Sr., and then with the McPhillips, Fitzgerald & Cullum LLP law firm. John served as the Volunteer President of the American Red Cross in both New York State and in the State of Florida. John has also proudly served as Board Chair of the American Red Cross in Glens Falls. John has worked with various community service agencies over the years, including the Glens Falls Rotary Club, which he served as President of during 2020-2021. Currently, John serves as Board President of the Southern Adirondack Independent Living Center (SAIL).
John and his wife, Lynsey, have raised three children, Hayden (28), Sullivan (25), and Carlyn (22), and reside in Queensbury, NY.
“The Orchestra is thriving at this point and is truly a cultural gem in the North Country. The Board has just completed its most recent round of strategic planning, and truly is taking nothing for granted in planning for weaker support in this time of political uncertainty and potential reduction in government funding. We know we have a great product in a highly talented group of dedicated musicians who consistently provide exciting performances.” – John E. Fitzgerald Jr.
