Glens Falls Symphony presents a Collaborative Concert featuring Symphony Musicians and Talented Area High School Musicians.
Join the GFS on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at 4 pm as music director Charles Peltz leads the beloved “Side-by-Side” performance. This unique concert features skilled woodwind and brass student musicians from across the region performing alongside our professional Symphony players.
Under the guidance of Music Director Charles Peltz and our skilled orchestra musicians, students will rehearse and perfect their craft, culminating in an unforgettable performance at the Arthur Zankel Music Center at Skidmore College, Saratoga Springs, NY. "On this special afternoon, you will experience an explosion of sound when over 30 of the area’s most talented high school musicians join with the GFS for a Side-by-Side filled with artistry and fun. Band students coming from all across the North Country will sit next to the pros and together we will dazzle you with color. If you played in high school band, this is must hear – you might even recognize some of the favorite “musical chestnuts” you played, which we will revive for the next generation!"
This performance will feature the Glens Falls Symphony featuring works from Strauss and Gabrieli. The Side by Side performance will feature works from Holst, Hanson, J.S. Bach, Ralph Vaughan Williams, and John Philip Sousa.
Join music director Charles Peltz, in the Zankel Music Hall starting at 3pm for his pre-concert talk. This talk is included in the price of your admission. Doors open at 2:30pm. Tickets will be sold at Zankel Music Center, day of the performance based on availability in the lobby.

About Glens Falls Symphony
The Glens Falls Symphony, begun as a community amateur orchestra in 1977, now moves into its fifth decade of music-making as a professional orchestra. Since Maestro Charles Peltz arrived in 2000, the fully professional Glens Falls Symphony has performed a dynamic repertoire, regularly including musical premieres and world-renowned guest artists.
The orchestra continues to expand its musical and educational offerings to include Children’s Concerts for up to 3,000 students in the 7-county region in Warren and Washington counties, plus in the southeastern Adirondacks. The orchestra served over 14,000 people in 2025, and the 41st season welcomed some of the largest concert audiences in its history. The musicians offer master classes, as well as family concerts, summer pops programs, and more. Cited as “one of the great orchestras of our country” by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Joseph Schwantner, the orchestra comprises professional musicians who come from all over the Northeast and beyond to perform.
