Adopt a Musician

You’ll feel closer to the Symphony when you adopt a musician chair. As an adopter, your name appears in each concert program on a musician seating chart linking you with your adoptee. The adopted musician receives a letter notifying him/her of your adoption and is encouraged to write you a note of thanks. You are welcome to meet your musician, too. Adoptions span the Symphony season from June 1 to May 31.

You can adopt a chair at the following levels of support:

Section Musician: $300

Assistant Principal: $350

Principal Chair: $550

“Jack & Donna Haanen Music Director Chair” (Limited to 10 participants): $1,000

If you are interested, please contact the Symphony office to find out which chairs are available!

Remember a Loved One

Donating a gift in memory of a loved one is a very special and meaningful way of supporting the Symphony and honoring that special person’s life and their love of music.

The Grass Roots Society

The Grass Roots Society is a group of modest contributors who collectively achieve significant goals for the Symphony.

Annual membership is $25.

Conductor’s Circle

The Conductor’s Circle includes the Symphony’s top echelon of supporters. Members pledge to make an annual contribution of $1,000 per individual and $2,000 per couple to belong to this supportive circle of friends. Members who contribute over $3,500 within a single tax year will be listed under our “Conductor’s Circle – Premiere” category.  Though donations are often made in accordance with the tax year, Conductor’s Circle membership spans the Symphony’s fiscal year from June 1 to May 31.

Membership comes with privileges which include:

  • Invitation to “Life of a Musician” cocktail party: This exclusive party is held at the home of a Symphony patron and presided over by Maestro Peltz. After a brief private concert given by a selected Symphony musician, guests enjoy a conversation between the Maestro and the musician about life as a musician, followed by questions from the audience. The event features fabulous light refreshments and an open bar. It is a unique opportunity for donors to get “up close and personal” with the musicians of the Symphony.

  • Enjoy the camaraderie and friendship of other music-loving supporters at our Conductor’s Circle Salon parties, held two or three times a year.

  • Special opportunities and events with Maestro Peltz, Symphony Musicians & Guest Artists.

  • Each member is listed in our season program book.

All donations made during the Symphony season may add up to your Conductor’s Circle pledge amount. These include but are not limited to: general donations, fall and spring appeal donations, musician chair adoptions and donations to the annual Gala, helping to support educational programming.

Polly Beeman Legacy Society

Sustaining the Music. Securing the Future.

The Polly Beeman Legacy Society is a forward-thinking group of Symphony supporters who have declared their intent to remember the Symphony through a will, trust, or other planned gift. The Society provides a way for the Symphony to recognize and thank these donors during their lifetimes and ensure that their wishes are correctly understood and documented. It was named for one of Glens Falls’ strongest supporters of the arts, whose many generous gifts helped build a secure foundation for the future growth of the Glens Falls Symphony.

To be part of the Polly Beeman Legacy Society, there’s no need to make a gift to the Symphony now. You only need to let us know of your plans so that we can honor you with membership. To declare your intent or get more information, call the Symphony office at 518-793-1348.
