Young Andrew Li Performs with the Symphony on November 5

Be prepared to be swept away by the virtuosity of 17-year old Andrew Li, as he performs with the orchestra on piano for Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in D minor. The stormy and triumphant Symphony No. 2 by Jean Sibelius follows, rounding out what will be an elegant and inspiring program in Autumn Colors, our second concert in the 2017-18 season. The concert will take place on November 5, 4pm at Maple Avenue Middle School, 515 Maple Ave. (Route 9), Saratoga Springs, NY.


Andrew Li, who is in his senior year at Lexington High School in Massachusetts, has shown his love for music from early age. Since his first competition win at the age of 7, Andrew has won top prizes in important competitions such as the Cooper International Piano Competition, the Boston Symphony Orchestra Youth Concerto Competition, and the Hilton Head International Piano Competition. Andrew has given many successful recitals. He was featured at the prestigious Rockport Chamber Music Festival and performed the Grieg Piano Concerto with the Symphony Pro Musica Orchestra. In April of 2017, Andrew gave a raved performance of the Grieg Piano Concerto with the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Andrew was also featured on the popular radio program “From The Top” as a chamber musician in June 2013 and as a soloist in June 2014.
Andrew started piano lesson with Ms. Dorothy Shi and has been studying piano with Wha Kyung Byun at the New England Conservatory since he was thirteen.
