Monday, July 3, 2017 – We Love New York!
7:30 pm at Crandall Park Glens Falls
This year’s Summer Pops concert was performed on Monday, July 3, and celebrated music from New York State, featuring several works by composers from the Empire State, including American Symphony by Michael Kamen and Saratoga Quickstep by Morton Gould. Other highlights included a moving and evocative performance of The Last of the Mohicans Suite by Trevor Jones, the return of the Children’s Chorus as they joined the orchestra for a couple of pieces, and some outstanding sing-along moments with over 6000 audience members participating in America the Beautiful and other patriotic favorites.
Each year, approximately 6,000 people attend the Annual Summer Pops Concert at Crandall Park in Glens Falls. Aside from planning this concert of summertime tunes and patriotic favorites, the Symphony also organizes a wide variety of food and drink vendors as well as an impressive display of fireworks.
