March 18, 2018 – America, Land of Transformation – 2018 Alfred Z. Solomon Charitable Trust Colloquium Concert
In an engaging and ambitious program merging film, history and sound, the Glens Falls Symphony presented the 2018 Alfred Z. Solomon Charitable Trust Colloquium Concert at Zankel Music Center at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY. The music program included Charles Ives’ Symphony No. 3, Ned Rorem’s Pilgrims, and Aaron Copland’s musical score to the 1939 short documentary The City, which was screened during the performance. The orchestra performed to a full house.

December 17, 2017 – Holiday Stories
Celebrating with a wide range of festive favorites, the concert featured performances by the Glens Falls Symphony Children’s Chorus. Chorus alumni from past years joined the Chorus for a couple pieces, revisiting their childhood and holiday memories. Entertainer and special guest Laura Roth added beautiful narrations of Twas the Night Before Christmas and other tales of the season.

November 5, 2017 – Autumn Colors
17-year-old Andrew Li astounded our audience with his brilliant performance with the orchestra in Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 20 in d minor, followed by a Liszt waltz as an encore, bringing the house down several times. Then the orchestra gave a powerful performance of Sibelius’ Symphony No. 2, once and for all showcasing the depth and mastery of this amazing treasure we have in our region – The Glens Falls Symphony! Thank you to Maestro Charles Peltz and our incredibly talented professional musicians, and of course to guest artist Andrew Li, for creating such a magical evening of music on November 5, 2017.

September 24, 2017 – C’est la Vie!

The Glens Falls Symphony opened the 2017-18 season with C’est la Vie!
The program of French music featured Claude Debussy’s majestic La Mer (The Sea), the bright and exciting Roman Carnival Overture by Hector Berlioz, & Georges Bizet’s exuberant Symphony in C.



May 14, 2017 – Firebird!

Our final concert of the 2016-17 season featured the sparkling Magic Flute overture by Mozart, Jennifer Higdon’s contemplative Blue Cathedral, Wagner’s vigorous overture to The Flying Dutchman, and concluded with Stravinsky’s unforgettable Firebird Suite.

March 19, 2017 – Brilliant Baroque!
Held in the beautiful First Presbyterian Church of Glens Falls, this majestic concert featured an afternoon of favorites from the Baroque. Principal Oboist Sherwood Wise was featured in a beautiful solo oboe performance in Sammartini’s Concerto in E-flat for Oboe.

December 4, 2016 – Holiday: A Season for Singing, 4pm
The Glens Falls Symphony’s Holiday Concert on Sunday, Dec. 4, gave the audience a bounty of seasonal treats. Highlights included the sweet voices of our own Symphony Children’s Chorus, a wonderful spectacle

of entertainment as our winning Guest Conductor Chad Rabinovitz masterfully led the orchestra through Sleigh Ride, and a cameo appearance by the jolly Santa Claus himself.

The Symphony performed visiting composer Christopher Theofanidis’
new work, Dreamtime Ancestors, followed by an audience favorite, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 3, Eroica.
